Presentation: Explosives - Basics for the Fire Protection Professional, EH&S Manager or AHJ

This presentation will address applicable federal and NFPA codes and requirements for explosives, as well as basic types of explosives, manufacturing, demilitarization, storage, and when and where to call for SME help.

Guest Presenter: Glen Saraduke, PE, CFEI

Glen is a 1986 graduate of the University of Maryland's FPE program, former firefighter/EMT, Fire Marshal, federal QCFPE, FBI trained fire investigator and a licensed FPE (PE) in most states out west. He has worked on private and federal projects in the US and around the globe including Antarctica. Some of his related current projects include small arms ammunition manufacturing, detonator manufacturing, primer manufacturing and demilitarization of ammunition. Glen is a voting member of NFPA 495/498, Explosives Materials Code and past-President of RMC SFPE x3. He enjoys target gun and bow shooting, fitness swimming and traveling.
